Case Study: Data Centre, Kent – 720 kWe Go-Gen Solution

A Bright Solution helped a well-known Data Centre to take a step towards energy efficiency and join The Energy Revolution™ by installing a G-GEN™ combined power and heat engine.

The challenge:

The data centre was facing issues with high carbon emissions, energy costs and dependency on the National Grid due to the global, political and socio-economic factors affecting the energy markets. They were looking for a solution that would help reduce these issues and support their commitment to fulfilling their green responsibility and fight against climate change.

Our solution:

The Data Centre installed a G-GEN™ 720 kWe engine, which generates their electricity on-site and captures the heat released during this process. This solution allowed them to reduce their carbon emissions, energy costs and dependency on the National Grid. In a twelve month period, the engine generated 5,781,600 kWh’s of electricity and 8,050,200 kWt’s of heat/cooling. Additionally, the centre benefits from a reduction in its carbon emissions by 79 tonnes per year.

The result:

By utilizing the innovative G-FUND™ finance mechanism, the data centre is able to benefit immediately from significant savings on energy costs while also supporting their green responsibility and efforts to combat climate change. The G-GEN™ 720 was built in the factory and test run, before being disassembled, delivered and re-built on site. A container was lowered into place to operate and it was quickly connected and fired-up. This solution has helped the data centre to reduce their carbon emissions, energy costs and dependency on the National Grid, providing them more stability against energy markets that are influenced by global, political and socio-economic factors.
